Zebrahead

I recently discovered a new punk rock band which I like the most. This time it’s about an Orange County, CA-based punk-rap band which was formed in 1996. The first thing what impressed me, was the crossover of punk and rap vibes. Inspired by acts including Fugazi and The Descendants, the group found themselves uninspired by the local trend towards ska-punk and instead began incorporating elements of hip-hop into their sound, eventually recruiting rapper Ali Tabatabaee to join their ranks. After their first EP, the got a deal with a big major label Columbia records. Short after that they released first full lenght album Waste of Mind. Continounig with second album Playmate of the year, where they got breakthrough with hit single called also Playmate of the Year. In the middle of 2000 They had Europan tour with green day, but after that they also shared their gigs with other well known ska-punk-reggae-rap bands like 311, Less than Jake, Goldfinger, Kottonmouth Kings and Reel Big Fish. After some tehnical changes, they lost the main member guitarist Justin Mauriello. With his departure the band lost some dynamic beewtwen punk and rap sounds, so they soon replaced their emptiness with a new guitarist Matty Lewis.
This summer they realest their brand new album Broadcast to the World which they were playing it on Warped Tour. Broadcast To the world is a mixture of 12 well distorzion powered songs with positive energy and dynamic mixture of ska and hip hop vibes. So if you like extreme sports and extreme music, this is it.

KEBAB Vol.1

Over the last year, a lots of Kebab kiosks were bulid in Ljubljana. So the new generation of street food came into the town. All burek kiosk had all food offer but Kebab was the only offer which was missing on their menu standings. So it happened. Tukrish kebab corporation had decided to enter on Slovenian street-food market. In the beginning of January infrastructure of Kebab kisok was established and all implementation was already in progress. According to the protokol and all ISO Kebab Standards all kebab kiosk were stragedictly established near all pizza burek kisoks on Čopova street, actually in the area of the BUREK zone.

KONKURENCA KEBAB - IBRAHIM HALITI S.P.

Konkurenca Kebab is located near Main Ljubljana Train station. It’s oppened non stop, 24hour a dayThe personnel are quite good, workative and talkative. Sometimes they are trying to be smart-ass-chicks-watch-me-I’m-so-funny wannabies. The kitchen has quite modern tehnology. Stevs are qouite clean and their offer is pretty colorfull. Their use two taisty souce and fresh vegetable. Chicken meat is well prepared and crunchy, which I really like. The Bread is fresh and warmed. Almost like the toast. They serve Average kebab set (chicken, beef and vege) and a Jufka kebab, which is rolled in delicious Tortilia. Besides Kebab and Jufka kebab they offer also all burek standards (meat-burek, chees burek and pizza burek), pleskavica, čevapćići and hot dog.

Service:
if not crowded, quite fast

Appetizing:
Mixed kebab is ok to eat, but if you order Jufka kebab it’s delicious

Costs:
Kebab 500 SIT Jufka Kebab 700 SIT

Location:
Accross Main Train Station Ljubljana

Accesability:
By Train 100 meters walk, by bus 100 meters walk, by car is not recommended. It’s hard to find parking spot So I’m advicing you to avoid
using a car.

NOBEL BUREK KEBAB - MUHAMED HALITI S.P.
MIKLOŠIČEVA CESTA 30, 1000 LJUBLJANA

Nobel burek kebab is located on Čopova street, near to Kinoteka. It is the next window to Nobel Burek. They serve Burek, hot dogs and mini pizzas. A young really nice fella, who will serve you a nice warm well prepared Kebab, makes you to come again sometimes. But unfortunately they don’t serve Jufka Kebab with nice
delicious tortilia. On the contrary they serve kebab with nice roast bread and nice chilly souce. Vegetables are fresh and tomato slices are pretty good. I recommend to not hesitate and order a mixed kebab with chicken and beaf meat. If you don’t like meat you have always the option to choose vegetable way. Nobel Kebab is located on miklošičeva street, which is like 15 minutes walk from Center. But during the weekends night it gets really crowded. In a case there is a long line it is best to move along and continoue your walk to another kebab destination.

Service:
Weekend nights crowded. A nice young man serves you all your requests.

Appetizing:
Well and toasty prepared. Try to Eat it fast while is still warm. Order it with chilly souce.

Costs:
Normal kebab 700 SIT, Mixed kebab 750 SIT.

Location:
It’s across Pilice station, behind Ljubljana’s court of justice.

Accesability:
By train, it’s just 5 minutes walk from Railway station, By Bus 3 min from bavarski dvor. By Car: You can park car there, but just temporary. But it’s ok, couse every now and then there is some empty parking place released.

SLAST KEBAB - VALJIDIN NUREDINI S.P.
POLJANSKA CESTA 7, 1000 LJUBLJANA

The point of Slast kebab is that they start to make kebab just recently. So they still have a lot to learn.
Because their Kebab is a big crap! No offense, but they really don’t know how to make a good kebab. Don’t let me start to talk about their baked meat?! The price is quite cheap. Vegetable is barely fresh, Ok the souce can pass the test but other stuff it’s a kinda “no go”. Since they recently start to serve kebab they still got to learn and get more skills about making good kebab.

Service:
Service is quite fast since there is no crowd, according to unhappy costumers.

Appetizing:
Not so good. You can order kebab only if this is the only option left in Lj.

Costs:
For Doner Kebab you’ll have to pay 490 SIT

Location:
It stands on poljanska cesta, near Poljanska gimnazija.

Accesability:
You can forget ybout Bus, Train and car. The only option is by foot or by bicycle.

Ocean Sleeps Tonight - Personal Project

So I guess I still didn’t give up from music. I’ve been pulling my asses for last few weeks to get this done. So this is my little work from my little project. I decided to keep on making some music in free time. I recorded a kind of melodical drum’n’basse rockish ambiental song. It’s mixture of beatifull melodic vibes which inspired me whenever I thought of the ocean and a beatiful girl. Anyway here it is, Ladies and Gentleman – Ocean Sleeps Tonight.

What Happened To the Good bands?

I remembered it was the summer 2003, the first time I saw THIS!
Hell!! That kicked ass! So I searched for their album and put it in my music library. I was having fun all summer listening to them. Hot Action Cop Ladies and Genrtleman. But, since then no words or anything from them. Rob Werthner the frontman formed a group and gave the name Hot Action Cop, when he saw his ex-girlfriend dating some NYPD cop. So that NYPD officer had a feathery out-of-date haircut, kind of an advanced mullet. And that moment he said:”That must be some Hot action cop”. I guess her ex-girlfriend probably slapped him big time when she heard his comment, he he.
Anyway. I’m really wondering, what happened to the band. I mean the had a major breaktrough. Once again I found a really cool band that I like, but aftert that no news, no sign.
Hot Action Cop is crazy-ass rock band with influence from Red hot chili Peppers and fishbone, which sounds crazy!
